Mosby is a rescue dog from Ensenada, Mexico. A baja mutt. We believe she is a shepherd mix with some collie mix because of her looks and behavior. Rescued as a stray who ventured into one of our partners properties with an injured (limping and a little bloody) the vet in baja mentioned no brakes likely trying to run the busy streets and anythign could happen and rest with anti-inflamatories would do the trick, which it did. That is the only medical she has ever had. Otherwise she is fully vetted in San Diego and a heatlhy dog ready for adoption. Mosby has been in San Diego since the first week of February both boarding at the vet (one of the clinics favorites and at casa de arwob along with several other foster dogs/cats) however, we have until March 3/20 to find her a foster home here in san diego or she will need to travel back to Ensenada where her rescuer can foster her. After that date, anyone interested in meeting Mosby we would need to request a week notice to bring her back to San Diego for a meet and greet and ideally whoever would like to possibly adopt Mosby will do a foster to adopt 1-2 week trial. We have learned very well who mosby is and we can say the following. She is already full grown if not an older teen than a young adult anywhere in the 10mo - 18 month old range She is a nice mid 40 pound dog who could be a 50-55 pound TOPS,, So if you are looking for a dog in that weight range, great! Mosby is AMAZING with all humans men, women, children. Sometimes there can be a bark or two when she meets people who come into the home or during leash walks of which goes away instantly when you great her and love her, she adores 'love' from humans. She has not been fostered with children but has met a couple of them and did great, her demeanor doesn't give us any red flags on nipping, etc, has not shown ANY hearding ei ankle biter etc. She does great with dogs from larger to smaller, male and females and is always romping around with them in the home, however, during initial introductions she can be a little dominat or hesitant. Once she knows them they are good friends. She does best with 20 pounds and above only becuase of the rough play that can occassionally ensue. Her BFF are Rusty a 35 pound male terrier and Lulu or Uma 20 something pound females. Mosby needs a home with NO CATS. Although she has not tried anything with the cats in her current foster, she is too 'focused' and if not supervised she likely could try something. Same with a home with rabbits or birs, she likely would exhibit prey drive. Mosby is crate and house trained. She LIVES for toys mostly fetching, she loves to do something, She needs a home who is looking for a dog to bond with over activities be it outside exploring or indoors doing something like fetching.. She can't be a dog that is to be inside the house all the time or in the yard bored. She does well in car drives and is not very vocal. She doesn't need a home with a yard and should do well in an apartment setting as long as adopter is active. Adopting dogs like mosby means applicants should already be thinking of enrolling in dog training class as we believe ALL dog owners should do when taking a new dog home, unless you have already done dog training with an actual trainer previously. We would love to find an adopter or foster for this beauty who is a loving, deserving dog. Everyone always LOVES her personality and looks but no one is inquiring to adopt her! :(We don't hold adoption events but we can schedule meet and greets typically in the 92110 zip code we request you submit an application online and we can schedule a call to answer any questions/concerns.
