Name: Callie
Animal Type: Dog
Breed: Australian Shepherd (long coat)
Age: 1 Year
Gender: Female
Adoption Code: C20253025 animal-tracker

Animal Profile: Callie is an estimated 1-year-old, 38 lb female Aussie who was confiscated along with her puppies from a puppy mill property by Bossier Animal Control in rural Louisiana. Despite her unfortunate history she was assessed to be social and friendly with people and dogs. She is attention seeking and likes to jump up on people for attention (so will need work on that) but is people-oriented and bright-eyed, and we expect she will be easy to train. We will share more info as we get to know her in foster care.  Foster Update: Meet Callie! This lovely girl may have had a rough start in life, but she is the sweetest dog you will ever meet! She'll climb right into your lap and loves people. She's great in the crate and is potty trained. Callie does great around other dogs though is more neutral and will usually ignore them. She's great around cats and was good around kids, so kids 7+ considered.. She's fairly chill around the house and doesn't have the intense Aussie energy (so far). She would make an excellent adventure buddy for an active family. Breed experience and a doggy buddy in residence would be pluses! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog is being transferred from Bossier Animal Control in Shreveport Louisiana and arriving to Seattle via Tail Lights Rescue Project on 3/23/25.
