Meet Jude! Jude is a striking red merle Australian Shepherd/Cattle Dog mix with the brains and energy to match his beautiful coat! This smart, eager-to-please young adult is looking for an active home that understands and appreciates the needs of a working breed. Jude is affectionate, outgoing, and highly intelligent—he picks up on training quickly and already knows sit, stay, down, leave it, and shake! He’s crate-trained, house-trained, and great on a leash. He enjoys meeting new people, going on walks, playing, and engaging with his environment. While he can settle after exercise, Jude thrives with at least 1-2+ hours of daily activity and mental stimulation. Given his herding instincts, Jude would do best in a structured home with experienced owners who can provide the leadership he craves. He should not be placed in a home with cats, as he sees them as something to herd. When it comes to kids, we’d recommend a home with older, sturdy children (10+) who understand that Jude’s natural instinct to "nudge" or "herd" is just part of his DNA! Jude’s story is one of resilience—rescued off the streets before falling into the wrong hands, he’s now ready for a second chance at the loving, active, and structured home he deserves.
