Introducing Angel, a sweet and sensitive shepherd mix who is searching for a peaceful home where he can feel safe and loved. While he doesn’t require a fenced yard, he would appreciate having a quiet space outdoors to do his business. Angel is not the most confident pup, especially in new or overwhelming situations. His instinct is to retreat and find a safe spot when he feels scared. He thrives in the company of smaller dogs, offering a gentle tail wag to show he means no harm. While he may not engage in playful antics, he enjoys their presence and is perfectly content to be around them. A calm and patient environment is ideal for Angel, especially someone who is home often. He tends to bond better with women but can be a little nervous when meeting new people, sometimes expressing this with a soft growl. Understanding and patience are essential; he needs time to adjust, but once he feels secure, he will gently seek your affection, asking for pets and cuddles. As he warms up, Angel will share his whole heart with you. You’ll see him smile and gently jump up for hugs while you praise him for being a good boy. He loves to lean against you, soaking up all the love and pets you can give.  Angel is potty and crate trained, enjoys his meals and treats, and loves being brushed to keep his coat looking its best. Due to his anxious nature, he is currently on medication, which he may need for life. He also has heartworm and will require monthly prevention as he undergoes the slow treatment method. Angel prefers a serene environment, making him a perfect companion for quiet walks or simply lounging next to you while you enjoy TV and snacks. He would do best in a home without children, as they can be overwhelming for him. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe.
