I was stuck in a tiny cage on cold cement with no sunshine, no grass, no playtime. The shelter workers were kind, but there just wasn’t enough space. Dogs were everywhere—stacked in kennels, in the hallway, even in the bathroom. We were all just trying to be good… but more and more kept coming. Then one day, we heard whispers about “the list.” I don’t know exactly what that meant, but the humans looked really upset… and I’d seen other pups go out the door and never come back. So yeah—I was terrified. Then something amazing happened. A lady pointed at me and said, “She’s safe. She’s going to 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue.” I didn’t know what that meant—but they smiled when they said it, so my tail started wagging just a little. Now I’m waiting for my next miracle. A warm couch.
