Meet Shana! Shana is a gentle and curious pup who is looking for a home where she can build on her confidence and explore all that life has to offer. She is an expert at making friends with both cats and dogs and would love to go to a multi-pet home. She often looks up to her canine siblings and learn from how they interact with their surroundings. As for cats, she mostly ignores them and finds them a little intimidating when they stand by something she wants. Shana even has experience with children and knows how to be gentle around them. She definitely has a lot of quirks, but she also has a lot to offer and is just hoping someone will come along and see through her timid shell. Could you be that person? Call the Ranch to come meet her today! This puppy, as well as several other dogs and puppies, are currently in our program through a special collaboration with Siskiyou County Animal Control. Due to severe overcrowding and limited resources in the region, many shelters are faced with incredibly difficult decisions. Together, we’re working to give these dogs a better chance by finding them loving homes or transferring them to partner rescues. They’re available for adoption just like our Rescue Ranch pups — but because of the urgency of the situation, they may be transferred quickly. When they are at least 8 weeks old, puppies are given a wellness exam by a licensed veterinarian. Before going home, all puppies will have been dewormed and received all age-appropriate vaccinations for parvo/distemper, and Bordetella. If they are 4 months or older they will also have their rabies vaccination. All pu ppies are also microchipped and registered with 911PetChip We require spay/neutering of puppies at 6-8 months old (or the appropriate age for giant breeds) by our veterinarian. The procedure is covered by the adoption fee. Alternatively, adopters can choose to have the procedure done by their own vet (proof required), and a portion of the cost will be refunded.
