Handsome, young Rocket Man was sadly dumped outside by his owners who no longer wanted him in the middle of a heat wave. As hard as we try, we cannot wrap our minds around how someone could no longer want this incredible cat! In all of our years working with cats, we can confidently say we have never met another cat like Rocket Man. He has left a lasting imprint on our hearts, and we cannot wait for him to find his forever home and thrive. He is people-oriented, playful, and stunningly handsome. He's outgoing with new people and has hilarious playtime zoomies. He adores being cuddled and will happily lean his head on the chest of anyone who will spare some time to scoop him up and give him some pets. He is also strangely very, very intelligent! We taught him how to sit quite easily, and he now knows a long list of tricks, including giving his people a "kiss" - which he actually taught himself to do! We are still learning how he feels about other cats, but he may do well in a home with other playful and non-dominant cats. He would also do well as a solo cat as he adores being showered with attention. Rocket Man can get overstimulated and can be a bit nippy at times, so he would do best with an experienced adopter who can respect his boundaries and give him lots of playtime/mental stimulation. He will happily greet newcomers, but may need a bit of time to fully trust his new family and adjust to changes - but we promise that the cuddles he gives once he warms up will make everything worth it! He needs to be on a special diet to manage some extremely mild medical needs. However, he does not require medications or any further diagnostics. We would be happy to discuss this more in depth with anyone interested in him! This is a courtesy listing, meaning the cat(s) are being offered for adoption by a rescuer, rescue group, or individual unaffiliated with the Brooklyn Cat Cafe or Brooklyn Bridge Animal Welfare Coalition. As BBAWC has not evaluated the animal(s) we therefore cannot provide information on health or temperament. After we receive an application, we will connect you with the current caretaker of this cat. This cat would prefer to be adopted alone and be the only cat in the home (he could possibly go to a home with another cat if the adopter is a very experienced cat person).
