Animal Profile:   Russell (aka Rusty) is an estimated 10-month-old, 70-pound mixed breed pup (we think he might be a Doberman/Hound/Shepherd mix), with a heart as big as his paws. He was found abandoned in a church yard, and when no one came to claim him, a kind-hearted Good Samaritan gave him a temporary home during his stray hold. Rusty is a friendly, social boy who gets along well with both people and other dogs. Unfortunately, the finder wasn't in a position to adopt Rusty so he was at risk for euthanasia at an overcrowded southern California shelter.  Thankfully, our friends at Angels of Raleigh Foundation stepped in and shared his story. After passing his dog-to-dog test with flying colors and winning everyone over with his sweet personality, Russell scored a one-way ticket to Seattle, and we can’t wait to meet him! Foster Update:  Russell is such a sweet guy! He craves attention and likes to lean in or have a paw on me as much as possible. He’d really like to be a lap dog! Russell is crate and potty trained and knows a few commands and hand signals already such as “crate” and “down.” We are working on his leash and house manners as he does like to pull and jump up. He’s a bouncy pup with a lot of energy and would make a great running partner with a little extra training. Russell will do best with a fenced yard and an active family willing to continue his promising start at training.
