"Hey Alexa, let's play!" Alexa is a fun little girl who loves to run and romp and play with toys. She's a beautiful blue tick beagle girl with deep soulful eyes. She's 1 year old and fully grown at just 20 pounds. She's timid in new situations and when meeting new people but warms up to kindness. She needs a home with a physically-fenced yard and another playful dog. Alexa and her sister Yuki were confiscated in an animal cruelty case. While they were not actual victims of neglect, all living animals on the property were confiscated. Due to the nature of the ongoing court case. the girls were required to be held as evidence and as a result have spent several months living in a shelter. The casehas been resolved and the girls were released from custody and are ready to find their happily ever after. You can meet Alexa at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-2 at PetSmart Eastgate. Our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, dewormed and current on flea and tick and heartworm prevention.
