Mona was pulled from the BARC animal shelter with a ruptured eye.  Mona had a microchip, but the owner never registered it and was never notified she needed help!  The shelter allowed us to take her on a 'medical release' with the understanding that if the owner came forward in the 72 hour stray hold, we would relinquish the dog back to the shelter to be reunited with her legal family.  (per policy, we would not be allow to recover any costs associated with her medical care)  We didn't care.  She needed help immediately.   Fortunately for us, no one ever inquired about her at the shelter and after 72 hours, she became our dog, legally. Her ruptured eye was removed and she received all her medical care, vaccines, spay, etc.... She is a DELIGHTFUL little girl, looking for a home that DESERVES HER!
