Foster or forever home wanted, meet handsome Tucker! If Tucker's good looks don't get you, his story surely will. Animal control was called out to a property by a concerned neighbor who knew this handsome boy's family moved out of state and chose to leave him behind. They did the unthinkable and left him tied out back behind an apartment complex with no access to food, water or shelter for at least three days.  We were told when animal control first arrived, they saw a lockbox on the door, and no one responded to their attempts to reach someone. When they went out back to look for Tucker, initially they thought he may be deceased, he was laying perfectly still. It wasn't until they approached him and made contact, he jumped up with joy, excitement and a very wiggly tail. As in most of these cases we see, here we have a very young, handsome, sweet dog who definitely deserved better than what his family did to him. Tucker came from the Lancaster shelter that is not a heavy traffic area for adopters, but very active with people who choose to dump their dogs. Tucker came out on a list and was one of a couple dozen set to lose his life for no fault of his own. He got sick with kennel cough in the shelter, and he was abandoned so he drew the short straw due to lack of space. We weren't about to let that happen, so we arranged a freedom ride for Tucker to a boarding facility where he can continue to recover from his kennel cough. Since he is new to the rescue, we are still getting to know him. From the volunteers and shelter staff we are told he is a sweet boy that just wants to be loved and your best friend.
