Mystique has been through a lot in her 3 years. She was adopted through us and then dumped at the city shelter in terrible shape. She was in severe pain due to untreated dental and gum issues, and was running out of time. Once we found out she was at the shelter, we rushed to get her and nursed her back to health. She had severe stomatitis and dental disease that was untreated, and needed to undergo multiple surgeries to correct it. She needed all of her teeth removed, and currently gets a monthly pain management injection that we are happy to have the adopter bring her in for in order for us to administer it. Her lack of teeth sometimes makes her tongue stick out, and sometimes she drools a little bit... it's very cute! Mystique is a sweet and curious little lady! She wears a standard tuxedo — you can even see the opening across her belly — and two white socks, which is really hilarious! She likes to be around people enjoys petting sessions on her own terms (which makes sense, given all she's been through). She is very good about gently setting her boundaries. Mystique is learning how to enjoy playtime again. She enjoys trotting after the laser pointer and playing with her mouse toy when she thinks no one is watching.  Even more than playing Mystique loves napping. She loves to roll around happily in a sun spot, just basking in the delightful warmth. We have to say, the sun is one of her favorite things.  Mystique was rescued with dental issues and had surgery. We would be thrilled for a potential adopter to provide a larger adoption donation (between $250 and $400 total) and/or assistance crowdsourcing funds towards their necessary vet bills if possible. Mystique actually has no teeth, so occasionally drools and lets out the tiniest little blep. :) This cat would prefer to be adopted alone and be the only cat in the home.
