James Quincy Adams is the definition of “still waters run deep.” He doesn’t demand attention; he simply watches the world with huge, thoughtful golden eyes and waits for it to prove itself safe. He is shy in the sweetest, most polite way: no hissing, no swatting, just a slow retreat to the farthest corner and a perfectly still orange loaf until the coast is clear. When the room is quiet, he creeps out to eat, play very delicately with a stray spring toy, and curl up in the softest blanket like a citrus-colored cloud. **Current comfort levels (still un-vetted, living in the back):** - Petting: Not yet; fingers are still classified as “suspicious” - Picking up: Definitely not; he becomes liquid sunshine and disappears - Play: Secret but enthusiastic; wand toys brought under the door produce tiny, hopeful pounces - Other cats: Unknown in a big group, but he’s calm and non-reactive through kennel bars.
