Jangles is an 8 month old male cat with Cerebellar Hypoplasia, also known as wobbly cat syndrome, a neurological condition that affects a cat's balance and coordination. It occurs when the cerebellum, a part of the brain that controls these functions, doesn't develop properly at birth. It is a lifelong condition, but does not affect their quality of life or life span. He was found outside on a cold winter's night in the Bronx and we cannot imagine a cat with this condition living on the streets. Jangles is incredibly sweet and loving, getting along with everyone he meets (and he charms everyone with his silly walk). He is FeLV and FIV negative and dewormed. He is also fully vaccinated. Please contact us if you are interested in adopting Jangles! We require a filled out adoption application (see here: https://www.modernvetcare.com/forms/adoption-form-from-mvc-fosters) and a visit to meet us and Jangle at our clinic (Modern Vet Care) in Astoria. The adoption fee is $150, which is a donation to our rescue to help us continue rescuing cats in Astoria. This cat has Cerebellar Hypoplasia,  is a neurological condition in which the cerebellum is smaller than usual or not completely developed. Affectionately known as a Wobbly Cat, this disorder is not progressive or contagious, and doesn’t cause any serious health problems – she just has a distinctive, quirky (and honestly very cute) way of walking around. She sometimes trips over her own feet, but she gets right back up and keeps going! The Internet loves wobbly cats, so she has real viral video potential -- and we have lots of resources to help you get her setup successfully. This is a courtesy listing, meaning the cat(s) are being offered for adoption by a rescuer, rescue group, or individual unaffiliated with the Brooklyn Cat Cafe or Brooklyn Bridge Animal Welfare Coalition. As BBAWC has not evaluated the animal(s) we therefore cannot provide information on health or temperament. After we receive an application, we will connect you with the current caretaker of this cat.
