Meet SOPHIE!   Sophie is a sweet and beautiful 5-year-old French Bulldog with soulful eyes that will captivate you and pull you right in. Her calm and quiet demeanor makes her a perfect companion, always seeking your undivided attention. If you stop petting her, don't be surprised if she gives your hand a gentle nudge to remind you she's there! With a spunky personality and a knack for making you laugh, Sophie is truly a delight!   Though she is technically house-trained, due to a back injury Sophie sustained a few years back, she has intermittent urine incontinence when she gets excited. She is on a daily medication called Proin to help with this, and her Foster Mom has found that diapers work well for her, especially since she tends to have accidents right after meals. Sophie requires a patient and understanding family who can handle these occasional mishaps. Despite her injury, Sophie is full of life and loves to play. She has some joint issues and mild arthritis in her knee but still enjoys excellent mobility. To keep her safe, her activity should be moderated with minimal running and limited access to stairs. In her Foster Home, she has provided access to a puppy ramp that Sophie loves to use, and while she can jump onto couches and beds, it’s best to discourage this to prevent further injury, so the ramp solves this perfectly.   Sophie loves spending time outdoors, basking in the sun, and romping around the yard. A fenced yard is strongly recommended to ensure she can safely enjoy her outdoor adventures.  In her previous home, Sophie got along well with another dog, and she also did well with a temporary Foster canine brother. However, she would prefer to be the center of attention as the only pet in the household. Sophie adores people and is happiest when she has at least one hand petting her. She is a little diva!   She enjoys car rides but needs to be securely belted in for her safety. She will play with toys here and there but isn't dependent upon them to be happy. She loves her chewy bones and they will keep her attention for hours. Just know that she may become possessive of them, so respect this boundary. She enjoys meeting new people, gets excited and seeks their attention. Sometimes she offers a little barking, but it is done from her excitement rather than fear or aggression. Sophie handles well on the leash, is not reactive nor pulls. She truly is incredibly laid back that most things in her world don't bother her at all.   In her former home, her owner expressed she did well with the children who visited ages 6+ and her Foster Mom believes her personality would make her great as a family dog as long as her bone and food bowl boundaries are respected. We have no information on her having experience with cats however, she doesn't bother with having other dogs around her, so if they are easy going, it may work.   People considering to adopt Sophie should take into account the medications she is currently taking. Prescription medications:  - Proin- Approx $25 per month  - Gabapentin- Approx $6 per month  - Meloxicam- Approx $38 per month  - Mal-a-ket Wipes- Approx $20 per month  - Heartworm/Flea & Tick preventative- $20/25 per month Supplements:  - YuMOVE Advance 360- Approx $20 per month   Sophie is looking for a special family that will love her unconditionally. Her cool as a cucumber with just a hint of spice attitude, along with her gorgeous face (and oh my goodness those ears!!), truly make her the pet of a lifetime. If you believe you would be an  AMAZING  family for SOPHIE ,  please submit an Adoption Application for her!   Adoption Requirements for SOPHIE- A fenced-in yard or a secured plan is needed.
