Looking Glass Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) virtual rescue, using a network of dedicated fosters throughout the Northeast to care for our animals until adoption.  You may be required to travel if approved for adoption.   COURTESY POST!!! Meet Onyx!  Onyx is a very special boy.  Onyx was abandoned with his mate and their puppies. The rest of the crew went on to be rescued but Onyx is still waiting.  At one point he had a home and family - we'd love to see him have that opportunity again.  Onyx is special in that he is deaf - although he has no idea and it doesn't slow him down at all!!  Deaf dogs present just a bit of a challenge and are truly not that different than other dogs.  Training with hand signals is fairly easy and effective, and they take to it easily with the proper encouragement and love.  Onyx is an active and playful boy, he loves other dogs and would likely do best in a home with another agreeable dog to take his cues from.  This would allow him to read the body language of the other dog and know better what is expected of him.  Onyx is good with people, friendly and affectionate.  We are recommending pre teens/teenagers for him only because they can be more aware not to scare him with quick movements or grabs.  If you're looking for a new best friend, partner in life and all things fun, this may be your guy.     Applications can be submitted through https://lgarinc.org/adoption-application/.  Please note that you must be 25 years of age to adopt and we reserve the right to refuse adoption to anyone.  All applications are subject to review and approval and a tax-deductible adoption donation is required to be paid prior to adoption day.
