Animal Profile:  Gwen is an estimated 1-2 year old 55 lb (now) spayed female Texas Brown Dog who was living on a chain with puppies (just a puppy herself) before she was rescued by a good samaritan in Texas. She has a sweet personality and is non reactive but hesitant around other dogs, and non reactive to cat tests on a brief introduction. For her short stint in foster care she did well with crate and house-training.  Foster Update:  Gwen has been such a sweet, happy dog! She’s got a decent amount of energy but is also content to play with toys by herself for an extended period of time. She hasn’t had a single accident in the house yet and has even taken to voluntarily going into the crate when it’s time for a meal. She also adores head scratches which is the cutest thing ever. She does really well with other dogs and loves playing with her canine foster brother. Gwen is a smart girl and she’s working on learning to keep all 4 paws on the ground and not jump up for attention, or gently mouthing her foster mom when she wants some love. Gwen is also diligently working on her leash manner as she tends to pull at the beginning of walks. She is very food motivated and quickly picking up on how to check in with her foster mom and stay close by! Gwen doesn’t bark at other dogs or people that pass by on walks but she’s very interested in rabbits and squirrels and will lunge for them, but she will turn back to her foster when corrected. She is still settling in with her foster and we will continue to update her profile as we get to know her more, but so far she is incredibly sweet and happy to be safe and cared for!    Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate.
