Meet Carter!! Carter came in with his brother Crosby. One of the volunteers found them on a dirt road in Mississippi. They were full of worms and looking for food and water and nobody was looking to help them. The volunteer took them in to get them started on deworming medicine and gave them good meals/water. They now are happy and healthy pups!! Carter is the shyest of them both. He is still willing try to hide behind his humans when he is not sure of what certain things are. When Carter meets people he is shy too but warms up fairly quick. Carter is going to make a great family member as he is a submissive boy with a great personality. Overall, he loves playing with his toys and chewing on bones. Carter and Crosby will wrestle and play together. They love other dogs as well so having another dog in the home for Carter would be best. Due to Carter being a puppy still, he will need training classes to learn commands and how to be a good boy growing up. Keeping him socialized and entertained will help him as well. Grow up to love everything. Right now both Carter and Crosby are not being left more than 4 hours a day. This is due to their feeding schedule of eating three times a day still and also needing to go potty. If you want to show Carter the world is not so scary and it's full of love apply for him today. All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP Bordatella (Kennel Cough) Heartworm Test Fecal Test, Deworming Microchip Flea and Tick Prevention Heartworm Prevention. Spay/Neuter All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease. VETTING NOTE: Fetching Hearts Rescue completely vets our dogs thoroughly to the best of our knowledge based on communication with our Southern Vets. If anything is brought to our attention, we treat the dog. After adopting the dog, you will be responsible for following up with all vetting going forward. HEARTWORM NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 5-6 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
